It’s been a while, let’s catch up.

Hello friends of Enrich,

It’s been a while! For some of you, so long that you might’ve forgotten about us. Allow me to re-introduce Enrich: we’re a community of product, operations and technical leaders. Our mission is to help leaders move through the world with self-assurance, clarity and confidence. We’re best known for our curated, thoughtful events.

This issue of our newseltter is designed to give you a peek into what’s happening at Enrich, invite you to upcoming open events, and share selected takeaways from the conversations we’re having. We’d love to welcome you into the community - if you’re interested in chatting about membership, you can apply here, and/or try us out by joining one of the events in this email.

🎟️ Planning more events and event partnerships

Overheard at Enrich

Lastly, we wanted to share some free insights from three recent member events - hope this is helpful:

  • Get that board seat: we convened women of Enrich in partnership with Riviera for a panel on how to take the next step in your career and join a board. Here’s what we learned:

    • Don’t worry about getting the “right” first board seat, just take the first one you get. You need one board seat to get another

    • Your job on a board is to NOT to give advice - but to follow the specific role of being a board member

    • It’s a big time commitment - expect to spend a couple days a month

  • Implementing DORA/SPACE metrics: this was the second part of a discussion checking in on how implementation is going and talking through questions and challenges that have popped up. Here’s some advice:

    • Use DORA with some combination of developer satisfaction/well-being surveys

    • Frame these as team metrics rather than individual performance metrics to help with adoption and improve team collaboration

    • Cortex and Get DX are good tools to measure DORA/SPACE - the market is changing quickly!

  • Founder/aspiring-founder networking: a speed networking event aimed at connecting members with fellow entrepreneurial peers. Here’s what they discussed:

    • Very hard to move from the mental handcuffs of the corporate world to the free world of your own thing. Need to retrain your mind to 'take action!"

    • Getting over imposter syndrome is hard. We all have it. Again, take action!

    • Ask the customer "will you pay more for this" when they request features. Helps to prioritize

    • Use Perplexity AI to write your deck narrative, Canva to design it, Gamma is also well recommended

Again, we’d love to get you involved - you can grab time to catch up here: book now.
